To avoid embarrassment of looking like a fish out of water you will inevitably need to have dance lessons of some kind. This is where you need to make the decision between keeping your lack of dancing skills quiet and go it alone, or admit your worries to your partner and attend the dance classes together. It is entirely up to you but isn’t the first rule of being in a relationship to be honest?

Once you have decided on the above then you now need to choose what song you would like to dance to so you can decide what amazing moves you want to show off on the dance floor. It all depends what you’re into but something like footloose would really get your guests moving to the beat or if you’re after something more traditional there’s always Tom Jones or Michael Buble. If most of your guests are below 30 then maybe something more upbeat would be suitable but it all depends on your tastes and desires.

You must also take into account your attire. You will be restricted in what you can do wearing heels and a suit although adjustments can be made; you can always change your shoes! So if you don’t want a sprained or broken ankle then that’s what we would suggest.

To get an idea of the difference between a regular wedding video versus a cinematic wedding video, think of a family friend with their video camera wandering around the grounds for a day, versus a glossy, Hollywood style professionally finished film created using professional film equipment found on premier film sets.

There are lots of videographers about today. And unfortunately a lot of folk feel that if they have a video camera this qualifies them for the job title of wedding videographer. Did you catch the news report of a couple who had successfully sued their wedding videographer for what was quite possibly the worst wedding video ever in the history of all time? He left his camera on the ground and filmed people’s feet, missed the important elements and still charged them £350. Admittedly, in this industry you tend to get what you pay for, but that’s still no excuse for the dismal attempt he had made to produce something of what should have been a special keepsake for the couple. You see, a wedding videographer, as with a wedding photographer, is someone you are trusting to capture the most special moments and memories, and as this day will only happen once, there are no opportunities to have a second take, or to interrupt the wedding ceremony to ask them to start again if the lens cap is on still, or a finger is in the way!! So the person you choose has to do the best job, first time around and that takes skill, creativity and above all, experience in the field.

A good videographer should tick lots of boxes, be discreet, be creative in their approach, blend into the background to just take stock of all that is going on, and pull your story from it during later processes. A lot of the work will be completed after the day and this is where a professional’s skill comes into their own, as with technical know how, they can make what is a 6-7 hours of footage into a watchable film you’d be proud to show your friends and family.

Your wedding day has a story to it, and you want this to be produced to the highest possible standards to watch again and again. We are incredibly fortunate to have been asked to film the first ever Wedding Industry Awards 2012 and oversee the documentation of this new awards ceremony to highlight the best wedding suppliers in the nation.

Last week we went to meet the judges in the centre of London as they discussed all 19 categories and decided which suppliers deserved to gain the bronze, silver and gold awards. All those regional winners will then go through to the national final which is going to be a sumptuous event held at the Café de Paris in the heart of London’s west end on Wednesday 18th January 2012.

The awards are the brain wave of wedding photographer Damien Bailey who wanted to create something new and interesting for brides to be to use to measure suppliers in the wedding industry by. The awards are all being judged by an incredible group of people who are all at the top of their game when it comes to weddings. As the founder of the awards and an award winning wedding photographer himself he will be chairing the judging panel.

Annabel Beeforth is the creator of the fabulous blog ‘Love my dress‘ and most brides to be since 2009 will likely have checked her site for inspiration along the way of their planning.

Miranda Easson is the editor of You & Your Wedding magazine. All brides to be head tout regularly to pick up their copies of this magazine to browse through for ideas and she is a highly respected expert in the wedding industry,

Sarah Haywood is a premier wedding planner, known internationally, and sought after by celebrities, leading public figures and nobility. Having attended the prelilminary juedging session we created a short, cinematic film to get people excited about the awards and we’re very pleased to say that this has been very well received. We will be promoted by the Wedding Industry Awards over the next year on their website.

So, it’s not long to go now until all is revealed, and we’re taking a crew down to London on the 18th to film the whole ceremony and this will be used to create a series of cinematic films of the event to promote the awards.
